BWHC SERVICES

 

 Please note that all services except for exercise groups require an appointment in order to attend.

Medical

  • Medical clinics are run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with bulk-billing available
  • Our female doctors specialise in women's health issues including pregnancy testing, Pap smears and menopause

Generalist Counselling

  • Counselling is offered on a brief intervention, supportive basis
  • All counselling is free of charge and confidential, however due to limited funding this service is not always available at the Centre
  • A bi-lingual counsellor is available in Vietnamese by appointment

Child Sexual Assault Counselling

  • This service is available to female and male children under 16, as well as female adult survivors
  • Please be aware that due to limited funding this service is not always available at the Centre
  • If needed, The CSA counsellor can assist in court preparation and advocacy for children and non-offending family members
  • A bi-lingual CSA counsellor is available in Greek by appointment

Psychology

  • A bulk-billing psychologist works from the Centre on Mondays
  • This service requires a referral from a GP

Remedial Massage

  • Sessions run for 45 minutes on Mondays and Tuesdays by experienced female massage therapists
  • Discounts are available for non-working adults

Naturopathy

  • An experienced naturopath sees clients every Tuesday
  • Discounts are available for non-working adults

Referral and Information Services

  • Referral and information are available to provide details on women's services and facilities in the Bankstown area and wider Sydney
  • Leaflets on a variety of women's issues are also available

 Vietnamese Women's Health

  • A Vietnamese women's health worker provides health education, information and services to Vietnamese women

Groups, Classes and Workshops

  • The Centre offers a wide variety of groups, classes and workshops, which are conducted within school terms.
  • Ongoing classes include Tai Chi, Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Craft, Meditation and Belly Dancing
  • Other support groups and workshops vary from term to term. Topics include Healthy Lifestyles, Stress Management, Conflict Resolution and other therapeutic issues.

Legal Outreach

  • Under special circumstances a female solicitor from the South West Sydney Legal Centre will be available by appointment only

The Centre is open during business hours from Monday to Friday, with some later appointments on Tuesday evenings.
